Earth Overcomed

Materials Used: Poster paint, magazine, paper

The painting shows Earth being polluted by smoke emitted by the factories. We should stop polluting the earth and save it. The sword in the side of the earth represents destruction. ‘Rubbish’ flows out of the black hole which signifies excessive dumping of waste, hence polluting the earth.

How did you come up with the idea for this artwork? How much help did the teacher give?

We had random ideas and resources and the teacher helped us tie our ideas together by including the earth, which helped enhance our painting.

What are some of the difficulties faced when making the work?

The drawings were not drawn to proportion, hence they do not fit well.

(For groups) How did you come to a consensus on any decisions?

We discussed together during our free time.

What have you learnt from this extended art project? (technical or about the environment)

We learnt how to work together. We learnt that pollution causes harm to the earth.

Did you make any sketches, preparatory studies before commencing on this?

Yes, researched through the internet.

If you had more resources, what will you improve for the art work? Or not at all?

Yes, we would paint more properly instead of handing in a semi-completed work.
