Name(s): Steffi Chang Ming Yan, Chng Xinni, Fong Ching Ying, Delwen Nah, Lin Yuchao, Neo Huiying, Janice See Yili Class: Sec 208 4 Seasons Materials Used: Cardboard, magazine, toilet paper, paint, adhesive, paper clay, doll prem, coloured tissue, cotton wool The 4 seasons are portrayed, one in each square. Each season has a tree in it, thus emphasising the ‘magic’ about trees and their ability to weather the 4 seasons. How did you come up with the idea for this artwork? How much help did the teacher give? We felt that the portrayal of trees in different seasons brings out the natural beauty of trees and hence will help people feel for and protect trees. The teacher gave us quite a lot of help on how to increase the aesthetic appeal of the work. What are some of the difficulties faced when making the work? Some members of the group were uncooperative and did not contribute any effort to the artwork as they felt that the project was unimportant. (For groups) How did you come to a consensus on any decisions? We wrote out or voiced our ideas, and then added new ideas gradually and cancelled out the bad ones. What have you learnt from this extended art project? (technical or about the environment) We learnt that every leaf on a tree is special and without it, the tree (or art work) will not be the same. Did you make any sketches, preparatory studies before commencing on this? Yes, we sketched a rough image of the project. If you had more resources, what will you improve for the art work? Or not at all?
