Materials Used: Poster paint, paper, ribbon, lace, netting, feather, Wood, tissue, aluminiumfoil, fabric, buttons, plastic casing, sequins, beads and styrofoam This collage shows wastage of resources in the home environment. It portrays water and electricity wastage and littering. It also shows how people dispose of their used items inappropriately and that many of these items can actually be recycled. 2. How did you come up with the idea for this artwork? How much help did the teacher give? We came up with the idea of depicting a home environment as we thought people would be most familiar with it. Our teacher gave us quite a lot of help by showing works related to the environment done by other artists. 3.What are some of the difficulties faced when making the work? We found it quite hard to come up with the original photo collage, which we had referred to while painting. Some of the styles of the artists were also hard to adopt in our own painting. 4. (For groups) How did you come to a consensus on any decisions? We came to a consensus on decisions through discussion and taking turns (e.g. when deciding who did which drawing) 5.What have you learnt from this extended art project? (technical or about the environment) We learnt more about the painting techniques and styles of other artists. We also learnt to make use of used materials to create part of our work. 6. Did you make any sketches, preparatory studies before commencing on this? We made three different photo collages before choosing one composition to paint. 7. If you had more resources, what will you improve for the art work? Or not at all? We could make it more creative by using other materials.
